TL Learning Outcomes
The program has been designed to be a challenging and appealing blend of theory and practice. Students earning the certificate will learn classic and contemporary theories of teaching and learning, address key skills needed for effective teaching, and apply their learning to design, deliver and assess effective learning experiences and classroom materials. All seminar topics will include a dual focus on online and face-to-face teaching and learning.
Individuals who complete the certificate will have an advantage when applying for employment as adjunct instructors at community colleges, four-year institutions or other educational institutions. Skills learned will also be useful in the professional positions SGS graduates and others hold. In particular, certificate completers will gain transferable knowledge and skill in identifying learning outcomes, developing, delivering and assessing educational experiences, and giving presentations – all of which may be of benefit in a wide range of professional positions.
