You must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited academic program and at least two years of professional experience in an education or corporate training setting. See MEd Admissions for full details.

- Why should I earn my MEd?
There is a shortage of individuals prepared at the graduate level to assume leadership roles in education. MEd prepared graduates also have more career options and job flexibility available to them, as earning your MEd expands your professional horizons. Also, earning your MEd may be a stepping stone to earning your PhD.

- Is there a residency requirement?
Yes, the online MEd program culminates in a week-long residency in June. You will finally have the opportunity to meet your classmates and instructors face to face and cement the relationships you began online. Finally, the week is crowned with a full graduation ceremony.

- How are the courses and content delivered?
The MEd program uses an online format, a process in which you do not attend lectures but rather learn anywhere you have access to the Internet under the direction of faculty and staff. Online courses are delivered via the World Wide Web using a learning platform called WebCT. This powerful educational technology allows you to get course assignments, ask questions to faculty and other students, and participate in discussions at any time of the day or night. Technical support staff will be available throughout your program 24/7.

- How much do I need to know about computers to succeed in this program?
Students must have a basic knowledge of computer hardware as well as a working knowledge of and skill in the various computer software applications outlined below prior to beginning the program.
• Knowledge of computer terminology
• Knowledge of computer hardware

• Ability to prepare a word processing document
• Ability to navigate the Internet
• Working knowledge of database and spreadsheet software

- How many courses do I need to take to get the Master of Education?
In order to graduate with an MEd, you must successfully complete a total of six, six-credit courses along with the one week residency.

Depending on your start date, you can complete the MEd program in 18-24 months.

When you apply for admission to the MEd program, you can submit transcripts and course outlines for consideration for transfer credits. Transfer credits will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Norwich University complies with VA regulations and guidelines as they pertain to transfer credits.
