  2. Why should I earn a Master of Arts in Diplomacy?
    The Diplomacy program is a topic-driven investigation of the most significant ideas and theories of global affairs, international commerce, international terrorism and international conflict management that guide foreign policy as well as humanitarian, cultural, and economic decisions. The program prepares you for a role in such decisions and provides a strong foundation for future work in the vast number of positions that are directly related to the international system.

  3. Is there a residency requirement?
    Yes, the online Diplomacy program culminates in a week-long residency in June. You will finally have the opportunity to meet your classmates and many of your instructors face to face and cement the relationships you began online. Finally, the week is crowned with a full graduation ceremony.

  4. How are the courses and content delivered?
    The Diplomacy program uses an online, asynchronous platform that allows you to get course assignments, ask questions of faculty and other students, and participate in discussions at any time of the day or night. Due dates for individual activities are fixed and are measured in weekly increments. Seminars are delivered under the direction of faculty and staff via the World Wide Web using a learning platform called WebCT. Technical support staff are available throughout your program 24/7.

  5. How much do I need to know about computers to succeed in this program?
    Students must have a basic knowledge of computer hardware as well as a working knowledge of and skill in the various computer software applications.
    • Skill in electronic communication
    • Ability to prepare a word processing document
    • Ability to navigate the Internet
    • Ability to evaluate information presented on a Web site
    • Ability to perform a search using an online database

  6. How many courses do I need to take to earn the Master of Arts in Diplomacy?
    In order to graduate with a Master of Arts in Diplomacy, you must successfully complete a total of six, six-credit seminars, the comprehensive exam, the Exit Portfolio, and the one week residency.

    Depending on your start date, you can complete the Diplomacy program in 18-24 months.

  9. Do you accept transfer credits?
    When you apply for admission to the Diplomacy program, you can submit transcripts and course outlines in consideration for transfer credits. Transfer credits will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis up to a maximum of twelve. Norwich University complies with VA regulations and guidelines as they pertain to transfer credits.
